Early Racing Memory: “Getting dropped in a Cat-4/5 road race during my first race ever. Hairy legs, lungs filled with smoke from the night before, a total hangover. The course was even pancake flat. That’s when I knew I had to change my lifestyle.”

Funny Racing Memory: “I was in the Poolesville Road Race a few years ago and crashed entering into a dirt road section. I got back on and finished the race. A fellow rider looked at my blood trickling down my leg during the crash and said, ‘Robb, you look pro as shit!’ For some reason, I held onto that memory as being funny.”

Greatest Racing Moment: “Being in a 70-mile, 12-man break at the Seaford Road Race in 2005. Although we got caught with less than 5 miles to go, my teammate slipped off the front and won the race. Epic day.”

Most Painful Moment In Life: “One of my best friends dying in a car accident when I was 16.”

Worst Injury from Racing: “Not while racing – getting hit by a car while training/commuting to work in Washington, D.C. I broke my leg after flying over the roof of a kid’s car. I must have been going over 35 mph.”

Closest Racing Friends: “All my Bike Doctor buds, my old Harley Davidson teammates, too! Ben Landers is probably one of my closest friends since I started racing, but we never ride together.”

Funniest Racer: “Although he’s not racing anymore, Ben Landers! He needs to make a comeback!”

Favorite Race: “Poolesville High School Road Race, Lancaster County Road Races. Lately, I’m learning to like technical crits and cyclo-cross races.”

Embarrassing Racing Memory: “Learning that I forgot my bike while driving to a race. Luckily, I was by myself so nobody knew – until now.”
