Stage 2 is in the books. Heavy night of points sections. Mike Gisler started the night off hard and lead out the Clover Lane uphill sprint, holding his lead to the line, claiming the 10 points.

Up the first KOM climb of the Tour, Chris Santalucia timed his acceleration mid-climb in excellent fashion, gapping the leaders and having enough gas to hold the lead. Kudos! The yellow jersey Scott Sugent and Mike Gisler finished just behind.

In the thrilling Mountain Lakes sprint, the riders must blast full gas up a 15-second roller, carry speed over top, and it’s a fast downhill sprint to the white line about 15 seconds down the road. Scott Sugent timed it just right, pipping Giant’s Mike Romanowski at the line!

By the time the group rode towards the finishing section (from Kincaid Woods on Kinnelon Road to the blinking yellow sign in front of Kinnelon HS), the sky was black and it was raining heavily.

Gisler attacked early, blowing up the group. Sugent was able to put in a hard dig on the second climb, shed his companions, and bridge up to Gisler. The two worked together to keep the gap, Chris Santalucia in hot pursuit.

Gisler was able to get Sugent at the line — hard finish to a hard day!

GC: Sugent leads by 10 points over Gisler, 12 points over Santalucia. Romanowski is in 4th. Jonathan Iwaszczuk is 5th, overtaking Dillon Van Wart by five points. This is your top-5 overall.

Scott Sugent leads the Sprint category by 8 points over both Santalucia and Gisler.

The KOM jersey goes to Santalucia! Smashing performance up Taylortown… Sugent and Gisler are 3 and 5 points back.

Jennifer Defalco is leading the Femme category.

Stage 3 is this Sunday, wheels down at 8. First up will be the Wilder KOM, worth 14 points, then the fast Sprint towards Ridgewood, and then the finish KOM up Skyline Drive, worth a full 21 points.
