First Job: “I worked at Merry Go Round at the East Brunswick Mall. Quite a trendy store at the time. They had the largest selection of parachute pants!”

Favorite Vacation Spot: “Yellowstone National Park, the Rockies. Anywhere there are mountains.”

Pre-Race Feeling: “Lots of nervousness beforehand, but it all goes away as soon as they say, ‘Go!’”

Early Racing Memory: “Winning 2nd place at the 2012 Silver Mine TT race. It was my first official NJ TT race and had no training for it. I won $30!”

Funny Racing Memory: “Being afraid to clip in with the second foot while the officials held my bike.”

Greatest Racing Moment: “Winning the State Championship Time Trial. I never did a TT race that distance and was really worried about pacing myself with the heat that morning. I ended up passing my competition before the first turnaround. I knew I won but wasn’t sure if I could stay ahead the second half as I started to get the chills from overheating.”

Most Painful Moment In Life: “Losing my Mom to cancer and Dad to a massive heart attack….one year apart from each other.”

Worst Injury from Racing: “I wasn’t racing when this happened, but I bumped tires with my friend in front of me, fell off the bike into a ditch head first. My face landed on the edge of an open sewer pipe and cut just below my eye. Also, tore open my ring finger. The ambulance came for me. I didn’t know what day it was. I ended up with 9 stitches below my eye and 9 stitches in the finger.”

Closest Racing Friends: “Morris Area Freewheelers. They are not racers but make me feel like I’m racing!”

Funniest Racer: “Any guy that feels the need to jump me when I get in front of them or if they see me coming they go harder.”

Favorite Race: “2013 Somerset Circuit TT. I set my first course record. I was absolutely thrilled! It was a challenging race for me with all the rollers. In the past, I always struggled with them.”

Embarrassing Racing Memory: “Being late for my start time in my first NJ Cup Series TT race, April 2013. I gave the competition almost 2 minutes and ended up with 4th place. I was never late again after that!”

Toughest Competitors: “Joy Smith. She’s one tough lady!”

Favorite Athletes to Watch: “Hockey players and Olympic gymnasts.”

Qualities You Most Admire in People: “People that are fearless, but kind and down-to-earth…with a great sense of humor.”

What You Love Most About Riding Your Bicycle: “I love pushing through the pain and taking on challenges. I also love not thinking about anything else but riding when I’m out there.”
