Sean Pasieka

Growing up, Sean never that about cycling. He spent his youth playing soccer and lacrosse. Cycling didn’t enter his mind until 2007.

After many years of playing soccer, he was plagued by constant hip pain during physical activity. Growing frustrated, he finally went to see an orthopedist and was diagnosed with a torn labrum in the hip, requiring surgery to repair it. The rehab was intense. One month off your feet, another month on crutches, and no impact exercising for 6 months can cause significant weight gain! The doctor told him that high-impact exercise would cause greater damage. So he bought a bike, a Trek mountain bike. After riding it on the roads he decided to hit the trails. Two minutes into the ride he fell in a creek – the next day he bought a road bike.

After a year or so of recreation riding, he went to watch a cyclocross race in the fall of 09. He was so intrigued that he borrowed a mountain bike to race the remainder of the races. During these races he ran into an old high school friend who was on a racing team. He joined Propeller Racing in the summer of 2010 for the road season, GetawayCycleCenter for cyclocross.

Today Sean races for Elite Endurance Training Systems and is one of the top ‘cross racers in New Jersey.
