Laura Slavin is a professional mountain biker for Yeti Cycles hailing from Vernon, NJ.

Laura picked up a flat bar hybrid in the Spring of 2013 intending to get some exercise while commuting to work. That one, seemingly insignificant decision would be the major influencing factor in every decision made thereafter and would drive her life into uncharted waters. The flat bar commuter turned into a mountain bike, which turned into a mountain bike race. Receiving her UCI Elite license in XC just 14 months later in 2014, she has gone on to race all over the United States posting impressive results both locally and Nationally. From her inception into the sport of mountain biking to present, she has raced in five different disciplines and racked up over 30 top ten pro field finishes.

Among her career highlights, Slavin is the two time New Jersey State Champion for Women’s Professional Cross Country (2016 & 2017), a former factory XC team racer (2017), and placed top 10 in stacked UCI fields at the Eastern Grind US Cup XC, Fontana US CUP STXC (2017) and the Pro GRT UCI DH at Mountain Creek (2019).

Laura’s latest passion, however, lies outside the tape. Slavin began riding park in 2016 as a way of de-stressing from the rigorous demands of XC racing and quickly became addicted to the pursuit of becoming a proficient free-rider. In 2018 she decided to stop dabbling and dive headfirst into gravity-driven racing and riding full time. She has since been featured in multiple ride edits and magazines, both online & print.

Off the bike, Laura is a USAC level 3 certified coach and acts as assistant coach at Elite Endurance Training Systems. In 2018 she founded their Youth Sponsorship program, an effort to give merit-based sponsorship and opportunity to promising U-18 riders.
